Route description

“Brioude la Douce”, gateway to the gorges of the Allier, guides you through hills and valleys along the road of St Jacques de Compostelle.
This charming southern city expanded around the largest roman church of Auvergne, St Julien's Basilica, and is now a thriving sub-district.
Brioude benefits from a sunny micro-climate much appreciated by our campers. Its quality of life, protected wild life, activities centered on nature and water which take place along the Allier River, make Brioude an appealing and welcoming environment.

Do not miss the wine museum, the salmon house, the needle-lace museum, the treasure of the St Vincent church, the medieval towns Lamothe, Lavaudieu and its abbey, La Chaise Dieu and its well known music festival, and Le Puy en Velay with its cathedral which is on Unesco's world heritage list.

Near the camp-site :
Right next to the campsite : Allier River (baignade non surveillée), with canoe, kayak and excellent fishing spots (1st and 2nd category).
At 3 km : Swimming pool (municipal), Tenniscourts, Hiring of mountainbikes, Basketballcourt and a playground.
At 10 km : Horse centre.

Entertainment (July / August) :
Animation for children (6-12 ans) : 3 mornings per week. Evening animation once a week, and sport tournaments.

Services in July and August :
Reception, little grocery store (very simple) bread sale, a snack-bar with television and games.

Your camp-site *** :
90 pitches, 5 cabins and 15 chalets of which 1 wheelchair friendly on 2,5 ha.
This calm camp-site situated along the Allier River (ideal for swimming), only lies 2 km away from Brioude's centre, where you can find many kinds of shops and restaurants.

Activities :
Pétanque, volleyball, table tennis, outdoor swimming pool and a small pool especially for the youngest children, reserved for our guests only. Parental supervision is needed.

Chalets :
15 chalets of which 1 wheelchair friendly, installed in 2005, situated on the camp-site La Bageasse, fully equipped for 4 to 6 persons.

• Chalets of ± 46 m² with terrace :
  American kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, electric hob, microwave oven, refrigerator. Bathroom and WC separated. A bedroom with 1 double bed, a second bedroom with 2 single beds, and a two-seat sofa-bed in the livingroom ; Roofed terrace with garden furniture ; Bed clothes and pillows are present.
